On Saturday, 1 April, 2023, The Candidates Facebook page published an article alleging that Zambia had agreed to “promote respect for sexual orientation” in accordance with the Declaration of the Summit for Democracy. This assertion followed Zambia’s co-hosting of the Summit for Democracy with Costa Rica, the Netherlands, and the Republic of Korea at the behest of the United States of America.
